Blake C Goldring is one of the industrious men we have today. He is the chairman and Chief executive officer of AGF Management Limited. AGF is the leading self-governing investment management company. It has its branches in Canada, United States of America, and Europe and in many countries of Asia. He is the leading chairman since 2006. He has taken the position of being the Chief Executive Officer in 2000 and is still successfully handling the role. Blake Golding has also been the president of the company in 1997.
Under his management, the company has seen the growth of business of over $35 billion in investor’s assets globally. He has joined the board of Directors team of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in January 2010 and later on was appointed as Vice Chairman in 2014. On June 2015, he was appointed as Chair of Board of Directors. He now holds the position as member of governance and nominating Committee and the quality committee of the board.
Blake Golding holds an Honours BA in 1981 in the field of economics from Victoria College, University of Toronto, Canada. He also has an MBA degree from INSEAD in France. He is the member of the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts and a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers. Blake’s grandfather, father Warren Goldring and great uncle were also graduates from University of Toronto. They became generous supporters of the university and college wherein vital support for learning, for student extra-curricular activities and physical fitness programs such as athletics and sports was provided. The trio also sponsored and supported these programs, thus, the university could develop programmes such as The VicOne Norman Jewison Stream in Imagination and the Arts, Goldring Student Centre and the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport at Varsity Centre.
He has been one of the most respected alumni leaders, since he has been the member of Boundless Campaign Executive. With all these qualities in his past, he is now being able to lead the chair of management in many companies. He is the chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AGF Management Ltd., director of SunnyBrook Health Services Centre, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, The C.D. Howe Institute and Canadian Film Centre. The hard-working man also holds the position on the Board of Governors for Royal Military College of Canada. Lastly, in 2006, he started the charitable organization Canada Company: Many Ways to Serve.
The organization comprised of over 450 senior business and community leaders to provide support to those who serve in Canada’s Military and help their families. Recognizing his valiant service, he was appointed as the first ever Honorary Colonel OF the Army. He also received several awards including the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012 and the B’nai Brith Award of Merit in 201 and Meritorious Service Medal, Military Division Medal in 2011 and an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from the Royal Military College of Canada in 2008. Many more achievements are still awaited from this great man with great brains.
